When is a good time to let go?

For hope, I would say 'never'.

What are you losing hope of? The existence of G-d? A human relationship? The idea that you'll someday squeeze the mustard and get mustard, rather than that watery crap?

Ever read Martin Heidegger's Being And Time? If not, check it out. His main idea centered around the theory that the only way we can truly know ourselves is through our own angst and uncertainty. As we begin to become self aware this way, we begin to exercise care toward the world, which is the end result of self-awareness. In short, he'd say you're already there, whether you know it or not, and so there's no need for you to be uncertain.

All the same, I can put your name in the Mormon temple if you think it'd help. :)

Adios...

I am hanging on by my fingertips to the edge of a cliff, hoping that the person who put me there will help me back up... but instead I see that person just walking away.

But I will tell you, Gregoire, how to know yourself.

Surat al-Hashr 19: And be ye not like those who forgot Allah; and He made them forget their own souls! Such are the rebellious transgressors!

Remember Allah.
